Digital Wedding Invitation and Websites for Modern Minded Couple

Our client wanted to further develop a site made for brides and grooms to create digital wedding invitations. This application makes it much easier for a wedding invite to be created and customized.  It’s made to help simplify the process of crafting personalized online wedding invitations, from creating the invites to the RSVP list. Other than invitations, this site also provides a tool to create wedding websites where the bride and groom can post information on their site to present to their friends & family.

Through this site, user can simply choose from available designs, use the help of a designer, or even upload their own designs; all of which are presented in simple steps. Invitees can even reply directly on the invite, directly connected to the RSVP list for the bride and groom. Exporting these files is an important option for users, so CSV is used to enable that choice. What a user can do on this app, however, is determined by their membership. The app uses paypal to accept user’s payments.

Since the invitations are digital, it was essential to present it in a unique and interesting way. Flash and HTML is utilized to make sure that was possible. That helped generate dimension to the invitations, making them interactive. We also used Fontface through CSS3 for the fonts on invitations and converted them into images to ensure its compatibility on any browser.

Guestbooks were also a feature available on the site, as any weddings would also have. However, because this was a digital one, there had to be a way to avoid SPAM. We utilized defensio in this case to make sure that an entry was valid.  

We are currently continuing development on Glosite, after which we hope will make glosite even more accessible via any browser including on iPhone and iPad. We will replace all flash features with HTML5 canvas to create a more compatible viewing option for users.
