We had been developing iPhone app for this German Car Dealer Company, and now, since they want an application for iPad, we built it! The main purpose of this application is to connect car dealers with car buyers. For that reason, the app lists all the cars, allows users to search certain car, gets information of certain dealer and its car collection, finds nearby dealer, etc. It’s a portable online car shops from registered car dealers.

Ipad app is fun and interactive! This iPad version allows you to mark your favorite dealer or mark your favorite car. There’s also offline mode so that you can still see dealer info and location on the connectionless street. Google Map integration shows the recorded dealer location. And one tap email integration.

Technologies:

• Dual mode offline and online, we keep the data on the hardware database and synchronize them when there is wi-fi or 3g detected. User still can display his favorite cars or look for his favorite dealers info without internet connection needed.
• Support landscape/portrait view. Application detect hardware orientation, and adjust the view and rotate accordingly, it can be oriented 4 ways.
• Memory management, we are facing memory problem in the early stage of our iPad development. Now, we know how to profile and deal with this memory leak problem.
• iOS4 save state enables this application to be more user friendly. It keeps the last view before you leave the app. So when the app is reopened, it shows exactly the same view as before it closed.
